This collaboration of the different parts of the DuPage community has resulted in the formation of CREO! At a community event, parents also voiced a desire for additional pre-college support for their students. POPULATION There are over 10,000 Hispanic/Latino/Latinx high school students in DuPage County and the majority of them would be the first ones in their families to earn a college degree in the US.ĬOMMUNITY The people of DuPage are amazing! A group of individuals identified a need in the local Hispanic / Latino / Latinx community. We have big dreams for the program and are excited for our second year to start! Our parent workshops provide a space for parents to learn practical ways to support their students’ journey to college. Our student workshops are enrichment and mentoring group sessions where they grow their skills and learn from each other.

Our focus for the upcoming school is to provide high school students and their parents with academic coaching, individualized advising and monthly college-related workshops. Our services help solidify academic or personal development areas students may need in order to explore, prepare for and be admitted into college.

We partner with parents/guardians to help CREO students acquire self-awareness, college-knowledge, and strengthen their academic skills. We want to break away from misconceptions by changing the college narrative in the community and enabling our students to successfully prepare for and complete their studies. CREO DuPage (aka CREO) is a nonprofit pre-college program focused on helping motivated Hispanic/Latino/Latinx students attain the future they yearn for – making possible what may seem impossible.
